Here's a pic of the Radio Cafe on the corner of 14th and Woodland. As Larry Brinton says, "Word on the Street" is that it's in the process of becoming a place called "Mad Donna's." If anyone knows anything about it, let us know here. We at Hoodspenders have always thought it was a very neat building and when it was the Hot Chicken place experiment they had good chicken...don't know what became of them folks. But anyways, enjoy the pic. You can Click below for a bigger version.
UPDATE - from The Tennessean
Mad Donna's Restaurant and Lounge is aiming for an August opening, said spokesperson Raye Fontenot.
The owners are in the process of transforming the structure at 1311 Woodland (the former Radio Cafe) to accommodate a restaurant downstairs, and a separate bar and entertainment area upstairs.
The restaurant will follow a casual dining concept; salads and appetizers will share space on the menu with steaks, chicken and fish entrees. For the first few months, Mad Donna's will open at 5 p.m. for dinner. Lunch hours may be added later, Fontenot said.
Th owners plan to have some kind of entertainment five nights a week. The types of entertainment have not been decided.
Mad Donna's is hiring for front and back of house positions. To apply, or for more information, send an e-mail to jobmaddonnas@yahoo.com
But anyways, enjoy the pic. You can Click below for a bigger version.
